Terms & Conditions

These terms set out how we work together on your order. In short: each piece is made by hand, to order. Placing an order or paying a deposit confirms your acceptance of these terms — and if anything here needs clarifying, we are happy to talk it through.

Quotations

Quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue. After that, prices, lead times and shipping may change — contact us for an updated quote.

Each quotation is prepared for a specific order. The pieces, materials, finishes, dimensions and delivery terms it lists apply to that order and destination.

Orders & payment

A 50% deposit confirms your order and schedules it into production; the balance is due before dispatch.

Production begins once the deposit has been received.

Made to order & lead times

All pieces are made by hand to order, with a typical lead time of 6–8 weeks from confirmation. Larger or bespoke commissions may take longer.

Lead times are careful estimates rather than fixed dates. Where material availability or shipping affects a date, we keep you informed.

Natural materials & variation

Every piece is hand-made from natural materials — solid teak and other hardwoods, rattan, stone and metal. Variation in grain, colour, tone, knots, texture and weave is inherent to these materials and to handcraft, and is a mark of authenticity rather than a defect.

Photographs, samples and 3D renders are indicative; your piece will be closely comparable, though individual. As a living material, timber may move slightly with changes in temperature and humidity.

Bespoke commissions

Bespoke pieces are produced to the drawings, dimensions and finish you approve. As they are made specifically for you, they cannot be cancelled, amended or refunded once in production. We confirm every detail with you before production begins.

Shipping & delivery

We deliver worldwide, with terms and costs quoted per order and destination. For international orders, import duties, taxes and customs charges are the client’s responsibility unless the quotation states otherwise; we are glad to help you plan for them.

Please ensure your pieces will fit through doors, stairwells and lifts, and that the delivery location is accessible. Risk passes to you on delivery, or on handover to a carrier you have nominated.

Inspection & transit damage

Please inspect your order on arrival. Any transit damage or shortage should be reported within 5 days of receipt, with photographs, so we can resolve it promptly with the carrier.

Returns

As pieces are made to order, they are not returnable except where genuinely faulty. Any statutory consumer rights that apply where you are based remain unaffected. If a concern arises, please contact us — we will work with you to resolve it.

Craftsmanship warranty

We stand behind our work. Genuine manufacturing or structural defects reported within 12 months of delivery are covered at our discretion — typically by supplying replacement parts or components, or a partial credit or refund reflecting the defect. As pieces are shipped internationally, our warranty does not extend to an on-site repair visit; where a local repair is the practical solution, we will work with you on the cost.

The warranty does not cover natural variation, normal wear, or damage from misuse, accidents, unsuitable environments (such as direct heat, prolonged damp, or outdoor use of indoor pieces) or improper care.

Care

Natural materials benefit from proper care. Care guidance is available on request; following it maintains both the appearance of your piece and its warranty.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the value of the goods supplied, and excludes indirect or consequential loss.

We may update these terms from time to time; the version in effect when you place your order applies. For any questions, contact hello@thearkfurniture.com.
